Reggaeton

Reggaeton

Reggaeton is a style of music from Puerto Rico which evolved in the mid-90s from ‘Dancehall’, a style of Reggae from Jamaica which was popular in the 70s. Reggaeton has exploded over the years getting international success with tracks like Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” which featured the “King of Reggaetón” Daddy Yankee. The Sandungueo is a type of partner dance associated with Reggaeton and involves explicit moves called grinding and daggering which has gained much controversy over the years.
