Swing Jazz

Swing Jazz

Swing Jazz or Swing music originated in 30s and 40s America. The Swing era was 1935 to 1946 fuelled by the style and influence of the Benny Goodman orchestras ‘Hot’ Swing sound. The Jitterbug was associated with ‘hot’ swing and other dances like the Jive and the Shag were big in the swing craze. Swing music has stayed alive through the decades with swing revival and big band nostalgia through the 70s and 80s. New styles like Electro swing and Swing house are making waves today and helping with the revival of old swing dances like the Lindy hop.
