1920s

The Twenties or 1920s was the beginning of the modern music era with the growing record industry and influential technologies such as the gramophone and radio. The roaring twenties saw the prohibition of alcohol which drove drinking and socialising underground in to jazz and dance clubs where people could listen and dance to new music. The 20s sometimes called ‘the jazz age’ created new dance styles like The Foxtrot, the shimmy and the Charleston making styles like Jazz popular in clubs. 1923 saw the introduction of synchronised sound in films opening up opportunities for music to be used in film on the big screen.

An instrumental ragtime piece for piano reminiscent of early 20th-century music of Vaudeville. Great as music for a silent film, a vintage highlight reel or documentary and happy, lighthearted scenes.
