Before registering for a composer account, please take a look at our Artist Licensing Agreement, and make sure that that the following statements apply to you:
- Your music is 100% original and you own and control the copyright in both the composition and master recording.
- You have well produced full tracks (no versions i.e. 30 second cuts, underscores and variations)
- You have a minimum of 10 tracks to submit to our library.
- Your music is available to license non-exclusively.
- Your music is free of 3rd party rights. We do not accept music that has been submitted to Content ID, AdRev or similar companies.
- You have a Paypal account so we can pay you for music that is licensed through us.
If we feel that your content is suitable for Melodicloud we will open an account where you will be able to submit your music.
- Make sure your music is 100% original and you are the composer, artist, band or own and control the copyright in both the composition and master recording. If you are not the copyright owner, you must ensure you have permission to submit the track on behalf of the actual owner(s).
- All music must be available to license non-exclusively. Make sure any agreements with other music libraries allow you to submit to Melodicloud.
- All music must be free of 3rd party rights. We do not accept music that has been submitted to Content ID, AdRev or similar companies.
- All music should be full tracks and not versions i.e. 30 second cuts/cues, underscores or variations.
- All music must be instrumental. Human beat boxing, whistling, harmonic vocal layers, ooos and ahhs etc. are accepted but there should be no lyrics.
- Only submit tracks that are your best work. If it doesn't get licensed on other music libraries, it probably won't get licensed on Melodicloud.
- Please select your categories carefully. You are more likely to have your music licensed if our clients find relevant content when using our search and filtering.
- Track titles should have a unique name like ‘sunshine’ or ‘dark waters’, not ‘epic film score 1’ or ‘cinematic trailer music’. Also, do not include track length, bpm or tags in the title.
- Track descriptions should describe the music while trying to avoid promotional language like ‘great for advertising, television, film, games and much much more’. Check spellings/punctuation and try to write more than just a few words in your description. Each submission should be unique avoiding the same description for multiple tracks.
- Preview mp3s should be no bigger than 10MB and have a maximum bit rate of 128kbps. We've tested this and think 128kbps is the best quality to size ratio.
- Downloadable files for our clients must be 44.1kHz 16 bit wav files.
- Sound files should be complete with no audible dropouts, glitches or noise and be topped/tailed correctly with no dead space.
